Climate Change

Quantification of climate change and/or
climate change impact on lake ecosystems

The expert within L.A.K.E.S have many years of expertise in climate change reconstruction using biological and sedimentological analysis.


Prof. Dr. Isabelle Larocque-Tobler has more than 40 publications on climate reconstruction using sub-fossil chironomids to reconstruct mean July/August air temperature. She has training sets from Sweden, Eastern Canada, Poland and Argentina which can be used to quantify changes.


By using multi-proxy analyses, it is also possible to determine the effect of climate change on lake ecosystems. Pollen, diatoms, zooplankton, chrysophytes, XRF analyses are offered by L.A.K.E.S
